Top (10) Powerful Get Prepared for GPC Tips

We want you to be a GPC Success Story!  To assist your firm in achieving your goals at GPC 2008, please review and consider using the following suggestions.

  • Identify your goal for participating in GPC such as generate 10 sales leads in IT by March 24th, or find (2) potential SBE teaming partners to pursue engineering contract opportunities by March 24th; or to learn how to do business with NASA prime contractors on March 24th.

  • Write your goal.  Be specific, quantify and place a due date on goal as needed

  • Develop a conference plan by reviewing and determining which workshop, Industry Forum, face-to-face session, and expo booths are most beneficial in helping you to achieve you conference goals.  For example, since our firm focuses on the transit industry, we will participate in the Transit and Transportation Industry Forum, and we will also participate in the special NASA workshop and stop by xyz booths to network and obtain sales leads.

  • Write your plan and bring it with you to conference to make sure you execute plan in an efficient and effective manner in order to achieve your conference goal(s).

  • Update your marketing materials such as your web site, 1-page company profile sheet or brochure, business cards, etc

  • Prepare your follow-up plan and materials such as post cards, thank you notes, buying envelopes for mailing hard copies of brochures or proposals, stamps, active email address, etc.

  • Determine who in your firm will conduct follow-up and establish time-frame.

  • Review www.houstongpc.com web site to see what firms and agencies will be exhibiting at GPC 2008.  Tip!  Also, see if your target ideal client will be in one of the Industry Forums, or in one of the Workshops or involved in the awards luncheon.  This provides more contact and connection opportunities for your firm!

  • Conduct an Internet Search and review target customers web sites for primes and agencies participating in forum.

  • Prepare you 60 second “elevator speech”.  What you are going to say when meeting a potential client.  Hint:  Should say what you do, product/service benefits, and your hook i.e. uniqueness that distinguishes your firm from others

Plus!  Register now (www.houstongpc.com) for the GPC if you have not done so!  For more information on registration of GPC events call 713.718.5158.

Lastly, success begins with a goal and plan.  From there it is simply executing your plan at the GPC 2008 and most critical, following-up.  These elements have been found to be valuable to our past GPC success stories.

Much success and we look forward to seeing you at the GPC 2008!
